Hogwarts aka 'the cow pasture'
Our new cows showed up a week or two ago. In past years they have been named "Airplane & Spotty" and "Bossy & Flick".
This year, we present to you:
"Harry Potter and Hermionie" (or however you spell that crazy British name)
Also in years past, we've had totally psychotic cows. Cows that crawled under the fence and escaped or jumped clear over the fence to run away. More than once my door bell has rung with a neighbor telling me, "ummmm, your cow is running loose in the street". Fortunately there are enough farm people (hicks) here that they will stop while driving by and help you capture said escaped cow.
Capturing an escaped cow involves multiple people walking toward the cow, forcing him one direction while hoping he runs the way you want him to. I stand at the pasture gate and pray that he doesn't decide to ram into me and open it when he gets near. As you can see it's an extremely scientific undertaking that can only be performed by highly trained hicks.
So far this year we've had no escapes, knock on wood. The only psychotic behavior witnessed so far is that Harry Potter likes to stand in the water trough, making her own drinking water quite muddy. Yes, Harry Potter is a female and Hermionie (or however you spell that crazy British name) is a male. Go figure.
