slowly but surely

About six months ago I finished Harry and Bekah's room.

They are not going to share a room forever, but for now they are, so I needed to make the room somewhat unisex.

The room has a chair rail, that I don't particularly like, but I also don't want to remove, so it had to be worked around. I decided an outdoors theme would fit the bill. With a blue sky on top and green grass on the bottom. Harry's side has airplanes and Bekah's, a hot air balloon.

This room has vaulted ceilings, and you better believe I was quaking with fear as I balanced on top of a ladder trying to reach the top of the walls.

I made some vellum clouds to hang from the ceiling.

On the other side of the room, I painted a night sky. I am not a painter so this was tricky, but in the end, I thought it turned out ok. I also painted little glow in the dark stars, which glow (sort of), at night.

I added a chalkboard behind the door, just for fun.

Finally, I hung this IKEA wire with clips on it, so the kids could have a spot to hang their "stuff." I patched so so many holes in their walls, that I told them, "No more hanging up stuff all over the universe with pins! Use this IKEA thingy!"

They can put stuff up and change it easily, and now there aren't hundreds of tiny holes in the walls.

We've now lived here for six years, and slowly but surely I've painted every wall in this house, except for one bedroom, and the downstairs hallway and bathroom.

By the time I get those done, it will probably be time to start over with the painting!

I love/hate painting.
