good to know
Scene I
I asked Hootis yesterday if she screamed (the day before) when the carpool car was sliding/slipping all over the road.
Her response, (insert appropriate level of "know-it-all-ness"):
"Mom. Girls don't scream."
oh.
Really?
That's good to know, because now I am sure that I TOTALLY didn't scream a few months ago, when I saw a mouse in our cow feed bin. And I am TOTALLY sure my father in law wasn't standing 3 feet away, when I didn't scream. Now that's it's been cleared up that "girls don't scream" and I didn't scream, why is he still teasing me?
Just for the record, the mouse was BIG, HUGE and obviously very scary.
Scene II
Rooney was telling me a detail filled story after school yesterday about an activity that resulted in another boy falling and landing on his (Rooney's) arm. I asked if it hurt? It did. I asked if he cried?
His response, (insert appropriate level of "know-it-all-ness"):
"Mom. Second graders don't cry. Except for Charlie, he cries all the time."
So there you have it, in case you were wondering.
Girls don't scream and second graders don't cry.
Good to know.
