final January catch up
At some point during Christmas vacation, Harry told me he had a bump in his mouth. Sure enough, my inspection showed a red bump on his gums above a tooth.
Using my usual medically approved method of "let's watch it for a few days and see what happens" I sent him on his way.
Except that, in the chaos of the holiday I forgot about it and he never said another word about it until days?weeks? later.
"Mom," his cute gravelly voice said late one night, "that bump in my mouth is bigger."
So I looked at it and about fell out of my chair.
It was bigger.
Oh SO MUCH BIGGER.
I immediately started googling tooth abscess (my second medically approved method.)
Sure enough.
After several days of antibiotics we went to our dentist and he took care of it.
Harry was super brave and I determined that after such bravery he did not need to go back to school that day.
Movies and his choice of ice cream helped him on the road to recovery.
Spencer had his fourth grade program.

Just the usual: songs, dancing, grimacing and recorders.
And, not to be forgotten, a WHOLE lot of cold and snow blasted us during January .
The snow shovels that hardly got touched last year?
Well, they've been doing over-time this year.
