google that!

While our swimming season ended a while ago, Hootis' green hair is still here.  I thought that washing it a lot and keeping it out of the pool would naturally solve the problem.  It hasn't.  Despite the fact that Halloween is rapidly approaching and green hair may be cool for the Halloween crowd, we decided it was time to nix the green hair.

I did what any college educated mother does.  I googled, "how to get rid of green pool hair."  This may come as a shock to you, but, you can't always trust Google.  The first thing Google suggested, tomato sauce, didn't work.  It did leave a pleasant pizza aroma though.  Kidding!  Then we tried baking soda, which didn't work either, but did leave her hair rather stiff and crunchy.  Nice.

I finally decided to take matters into my own hands.  She was thrilled with my idea.  It involved Hootis laying in the backyard on a warm sunny day, with her head in a cookie sheet and lemon juice.  And guess what ?!??!?!?  It worked.  Take that Google!

(You can't tell from the picture, but she is threatening me with dire consequences if I take her picture.  Not only am I smarter than Google, I'm not afraid of teenagers.)

Ah, I thought she'd keep it and go for a Anne of Green Gables-Look. It was very becoming of her.
