whistle while you work....

I've been a full time homemaker for 11+ years now. Here's something I noticed after about the first week of house cleaning:

The work never ends.

Lately, I've been cleaning the house on Mondays. It seems like a good time to clean up the hurricane that hits our home over the weekend.

*

Usually I am done with the major cleaning by around 4pm. But then, by 5 pm, I start to wonder if I actually did anything ,or if I just imagined all that work. I notice that the sink that was clean an hour ago is now full of wet dirt streaks, the clean floor now has crumbs all over it, from "after school snack" time. The crumbs are soon replaced by large dirt chunks from "after school outside play". The toys that were all cleaned up for vacuuming, are now artfully spread over every square inch of the floor. All of this happens just in time for Stick to get home, of course.

*

For the most part, after 11+ years of this, I have learned to accept this as a fact and try not to hold a grudge. But once in a while..........I want to tear my hair out and run screaming for the hills.

*

Here is my latest tool to make the whistling while I work a LOT easier.

*

A cd called "Big Bad VooDoo Daddy". It's "contemporary swing" music and so fun to listen to. You just can't resist the urge to jump, trot and boogie while you listen. I bought the cd on half.com for about $1.28, who could resist that?

Here's a sample for your listening pleasure. Just imagine what you could do with a broom in your hand!

oh girl, do I know how you feel! I just have to remember the poem about little hand prints everywhere and pretty soon they won't be there...you know the one.

Anyway, the thing that drives me up the wall the most is the phrase:
"I didn't do it!"

Someday they will know exactly how we feel! :)

And the other thing is, just think how bad it would be if we didn't ever clean!

I love your insight! You're AWESOME!!!!
