basketball week - Spencer
This is Spencer's first year of basketball.
He loves it, but has been a little frustrated because his team......well, let's just say, "they stink."
Trust me on this, most of his teammates can't breath and dribble the ball at the same time. If you add the distraction of blinking their eyes too, fuhgedaboutit!
~
Team line up to see who on the other team you will defend against.
The ref asks, "Who is going to jump?"
Since Spence is the tallest kid on the entire court, he jumps for his team.
He tips the ball and since none of his teammates catch it, he catches his own tip causing the ref to whistle and remind, "You can't catch your own tip!"
Spencer's explanation: "None of my teammates were catching it, so I did it myself!"
Spencer had a great game.
He stole the ball over and over and made 12 points.
Life is hard for the short guy.
(This picture totally cracks me up. Spencer doesn't even have to raise his hands to guard/block.)
For the first time all season, Spencer's team won.
It was especially thrilling because they've have several games where their score was "zero".
Go team!

After watching Nate play a variety of sports, I've seen a clear advantage and greater skill level in boys who have been playing with/against their older brothers. No wonder he's so good!
