weekly 2015.2.8
Rebekah has been telling me lately that she really wants to give a talk in Primary because she hasn’t given one in a while. Sure enough, she volunteered today for next week’s talk.
Harry had his last basketball game yesterday. He scored about 20 of his team’s 40 points. His two neighborhood buddies on the team also had a bunch of points, so they were all happy together in their victory! He has loved the season and is sad to see it end. He took it all so seriously, he would tell me before each game that he had an anticipation stomach ache. You’d never know it to see him play though.
Spencer scored more than half of his team’s points yesterday. He and Stick have loved the season too and only had one loss. A lot of the parents told Stick what a great coach he was. It’s true. He had a few really great players, a few medium skilled players and a couple that needed serious coaching, but he figured out how to rotate them all in and out and get the wins so everyone was happy.
Thomas has his eagle paperwork done, but we realized that he still needs to finish two merit badges before he can turn it in. (Headache.)
Aaron in a move that we didn’t see coming, joined the school volleyball team last week. I love volleyball in any form so it should be fun to watch him in action.
Rachel turned 18 on Friday. Frankly, her birthday wasn’t that exciting. (Welcome to adulthood.) She and I went to Kneaders for breakfast, she went out to lunch with a friend, did a little shopping because there was no school/work and then spent the evening with us at the high school watching Bekah do her half time dance. She didn’t get much in the way of presents because her main gift from us was $ for Hawaii II. So yeah, happy 18 to my darling girl.
Stick is feeling mostly better, a couple of the kids are functioning at half speed, and I’ve had a nasty head cold for a couple of days, but I’m on the mend. The weather has been so gorgeous and we had all the house windows open today for most of the day.
Happy winterspring!
