trek 2014
Tomorrow morning, 9am, these two will be transported back, back, back to pioneer times. (Or should I spell it tymes?)
They have their official pioneer duds ready to go.
See that bucket down by Aaron's feet?
That's his official pioneer suitcase and chair.
Looks comfy doesn't it?
ha!
Aaron had one of these shirts already, and I bought the other at DI.
I also bought some pants (no jeans allowed) at DI, but they were so baggy that once I got them home, I changed my mind. So WalMart came to the rescue with these two pairs of Dickies. Just think, he can be a pioneer in them and then come home and work as a mechanic. Same uniform!
We got the hat at Recreation Outlet. It's a little too big, but at least his ears won't get sunburned. I sewed on the string. He also has a belt to wear but it's missing in these pictures.
Now this girl, she is ex-ci-TED! As you can plainly see.
Her shirts came from DI, her hat from Kohls, and her skirts, apron and (hidden) bloomers came from mama's sewing room.
Please note how super cute her boots are.
She really loves them.
She may have threatened to leave them home and wear her Converse high tops, but I'm sure she was just joking.
Outfit #2 and her top of the line pioneer bucket.
I thought she picked two cute pioneer-ish fabrics for her skirts.
She's just so excited about Trek she decided to dance a jig.
I hope they have a memorable experience.
We have pioneer ancestry on both sides of our family. I hope that even if it's just for a small moment, Rachel and Aaron can feel what they felt and learn what they learned.
(Also, I'm trying not to stress about the fact that it's super super hot right now and they're going to be hiking through the Utah desert for three and a half days. The leaders are going to have plenty of water, right? right !?)
Good luck kiddos, can't wait to hear all about it!

Love the skirts! I need more details. Did you follow a pattern or make it up?
