'get involved man' or is it 'get involved, man' or is it 'get, involved man'
It's been interesting to see the differences in my children at the Junior High age.
Aaron likes to be involved in extra-curricular activities. (Rachel? Not so much.) This year he's been in Chess Club, Math Genius Club*, and just a few weeks ago he and some friends formed a "three man" basketball team and competed in the school competition. They played game after game and in the end got second place, sending them to the district competition.
The district competition was today and I went to watch.
Aaron wasn't quite up to his normal competitive self due to his ear surgery** last week. He's still a little dizzy, which made playing basketball interesting.
The other team had two subs and were quite a bit taller than Aaron's team, but they managed to keep the score close for the whole game. The tournament was single elimination and they lost, so they're done.
I'm happy that he likes to be involved, all these activities are good character building experiences.
(I will be even more happy when the new school that is two blocks from our house is finished next year and he can walk home from fill in the blank club.)
*I have no idea what it's really called.
** I haven't blogged about it yet.
On our way home we saw this:
Neato, burrito.
