Hawaii: day 6

12.29.2014

Pearl Harbor day.

We played on the beach a little in the morning, but then headed into Honolulu to visit Pearl Harbor.

After we watched a movie about the events, they took us across the harbor on the boat to the memorial. Right here we are looking down to the Arizona. Strangely enough the oil is still leaking out, all these years later. We could see it on the surface of the water and smell it.

He asked for this picture.

Hey, there dimples!

This pretty much sums up why I don't do selfies.

Although I did manage to get the memorial in the background, so let's pretend it was intentional.

Back on land we visited the two museums that had several hands on activities.

Below, Rachel is trying to crack the Japanese code.

I totally made him take this picture.

Because, you know.

Is it still a photo bomb, if your bomber wears a lei and jumps in front?

By the end of the day, some of the kids were a little antsy so we headed back to our beach, after a stop at Costco and Ross for some shirts and hot dogs.

Are you wondering if Costco in HI is as crowded/crazy as it is here?

Yep.

Once we got home, we saw some horses, obviously.

We got a little bit of beach play in before the sun went down.
