la casa nueva
I had a request to see our house plan a while ago, so here it is. We are finally done (I hope) with the designer and just sent it off to the engineer to he can "engineer*"it. I tried to copy the adobe file directly here, so the copy would be better, but I am not technically savvy enough to do it. All I could figure out was to print it, and take a picture. You can click on the picture to see the enlarged version.
Here is the explanation of all the red ink. We are building the house in 2 halves, Phase I and Phase II. We will build exactly half of the house in Phase I, move into the new 1/2 house, knock down our current old house, then build Phase II in it's place. Why are we doing this insane thing? I don't know. Actually so we have someplace to live while the house is being constructed, and because we are crazy.
So there you have it.
* Yes, Stick is an engineer. And yes, he is too busy to "engineer" it. Besides, he doesn't do much engineering these days, he's the "boss-man engineer" so he mainly gets paid to do paperwork and boss other people around. How cool is that? The "boss" part, not the paperwork part.

I love your house plans! I also think that building it in two phases is sheer genius!
I am jealous!;) What did the grand total sq. footage come out to be? Are you just going to have a bonus room in the atic? What is going in the basement besides food storage and regular storage? Are you pouring the footings and foundation all at the same time or is that in phases, also? Sorry aboout all the questions! inquiring minds want to know! Te he he! I love building new homes. It is so fun to pick everything out, etc! Enjoy!!!

Answers to questions:
-Sq.Footage just under 4000
-Attic space will be a temporary bedroom while we build Phase II, after that, probably a "play room"
-Basement will be empty except for storage. Although we will probably have another temporary bedroom downstairs too, during construction. We just want the option of finishing it sometime later
-The footings/foundation will also be in phases.
-Glad you like the plan. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears! haha
