eighteen and counting
Last weekend we celebrated our 18th anniversary with a quick trip to Park City.
We stayed at The Canyons Resort.
We ate dinner at River Horse on Main.
We got there right before dinner when this empty room filled right up.
The funny thing about eating at a schwanky restaurant is that sometimes you get a big plate with a tiny bit of food on it, of course the food is artfully arranged, but still.... Once again, this happened to Stick, who ordered Ahi Tuna. My portion was just right, a peach stuffed pork chop with some kind of greens that I couldn't identify, but tasted good, with fried polenta on the side. It was yum.
While we were eating we noticed this right outside our window, across the street.
So we went over after eating, to check it out.
The cutest sister missionary from New Zealand was inside offering tours and information. It was empty when we visited, but she said they get a lot of traffic on a daily basis. I was super impressed, I didn't even know this place existed.
We ate at this place the next morning before heading out of town.
Rachel and I ate here years ago and really loved it.
It was good this time too.
Although my bacon was cooked so crisp that I thought perhaps I had cooked it myself since charcoal bacon is my specialty.
On the way back home we stopped in SLC at a restaurant supply store that I've been wanted to check out for a while.
It was a humongo warehouse filled with every kind of kitchen/restaurant supply you can think of . It was kind of like GyGi's but 10x bigger with no fresh food, and um, dustier.
You walk into a place like that thinking whoa this place is huge and overwhelming but then before you know it you start to see all kinds of things that you didn't know you needed!
Like a box of 1400 straws.
Eighteen is the "straw" year, right?
