weekly 2014.8.10

Rachel worked all week at Sonic which she is LOVING. Not. She and her buddy Bree sewed t-shirts until midnight Friday night. The director of the social activities was at a family reunion all week, so their social plans were somewhat on hold. But never fear, he’s back in town and they already have the driving range on their agenda for the week.

Aaron went boating at Flaming Gorge from Wednesday through Saturday with the teacher’s quorum. Tons of rafting, tubing, wake boarding, knee boarding and game playing when it was raining. Needless to say, he had a great time.

Thomas is still spending a lot of time fiddling with wood. He carved a whistle after watching a tutorial on the internet. And it really whistles! Which is awesome but is technically only allowed outside because whistling to me=fingernails on a chalkboard.

Spencer was hired to mow someone's lawn. Their yard is huge and the grass was super long and wet. He's always one to be motivated by money, so he worked for five hours mowing that yard. It was pitch black outside when he finished. The stated rate of pay was low (in my opinion) for the amount of work required, but he was still willing to do it. I'm happy that he's willing to work hard for his money.

Harry had a toy sale after cleaning out a lot of junk from his closet. He seemed surprised that no one wanted to buy his toys. He eventually gave most of it away to the little neighbor boys who all pleaded with big puppy dog eyes that they had no money. I’m sure their mothers were thrilled.

Rebekah went to Mary Poppins at Hale Center Theater with our neighbors. She loved every minute of it, came home at almost 11pm and was deliriously hyper for days trying to recover.

We met Grandma at the Bean Museum on Friday morning to check out the new remodeled edition. Super fun especially when followed by Creamery ice cream. Rachel tried to not die of embarrassment when Grandma and I walked into one of the new dorms because we simply wanted to check it out. We didn’t even get caught!!!

Yesterday we spent a fabulous day at Pineview Reservoir with all of the Stick's family. The first time in 12 years that we’ve all been together. Grandma and Grandpa got home from their mission just a few days ago. Our boys are obsessed with canoeing and kayaking. Harry spent the entire day floating happily around with an oar of one kind or another in his hands.

Over and out.
