BMI
Although it's only been a month since little sister was born, I am anxious to get back to my normal clothes and stuff my intermediate clothes back into a dark corner of my closet. I realize that I may actually have to do something really annoying, like exercise, to lose the weight. The problem with exercise it that it makes me sweat. I hate sweating, it's just so......sweaty.
In the past, I did a whole lot of nothing and eventually, after about 2 months, I miraculously fit back into my normal wardrobe. Unfortunately I have some things working against me this time. #1- I gained 49 lbs, during this pregnancy. #2- One month later, only 20 of the pounds are gone, only 7 of which were baby. #3- With subsequent pregnancies, the weight doesn't seem to be as willing to miraculously disappear., #4- I'm not exactly a spring chick anymore. I think this affects my weight loss.
I decided over the weekend, that if I wanted to get any exercise in before the weather turns frigid, I better get started. So, this morning, out into the crisp fall air I went. Huffing and puffing away (and sweating, dang it). With baby girl in the stroller, taking a much needed snooze. (She was tired after being awake for 3.4 minutes.) Houdini speedily pedaling on the trail beside me.
When I got home I decided that I would take a scientific approach to this exercise thing. I would write down my current weight, make all kinds of charts, goals and spreadsheets, etc. Exactly the kind of thing I'm really bad at. In my enthusiasm, I even looked on the Internet for a Body Mass Index Chart. I typed in my height (really tall). I typed in my weight (none of your business, nosey!). I clicked "calculate". And there was my BMI on the screen. Normal.
Normal. Despite the fact that I'm 30lbs. more than usual, my BMI is normal.
Cool. Pass the cookies.

I decided to check my BMI as well, being that I'm 9 months pregnant I thought it would say something interesting...it tells me I'm NORMAL as well. Apparently an extra 40 + pounds is just the thing to make us 'normal'.
