hermanas

It's been kind of a rough week around here.  Today two of my sisters and their kids came over to cheer us (me) up.  It worked!

We sat and chatted and laughed and laughed some more.  We can talk non-stop about pretty much any topic known to man.  Things (that I can remember) we covered today:  Malcom Gladwell, kids doing (or not doing) work, Harry Potter, sunscreen types, camping, the flaming white skin of a particular cousin, master's degrees, marriage, dating, renters, our kids, kindergarten, boys vs. girls, my tree that I'm growing from an acorn (joy),  my pathetic lemon tree (boo), drinking grey water, Steve Young, babies, how to properly hold a violin, how to make your paint shade darker, "The Help", how to properly fold Stick's socks (they were doing my laundry), making bread, eating real chips vs. dirt chips, growing butternut squash, gardening, blogging/blogs/bloggers, husband job happiness, "The DaVinci Code", how far is it to walk 16 blocks in the Avenues (uphill), Etsy shops, are the last two Grisham books awful? (yes), bossy kids, Alec Baldwin, Smiths vs. Fresh Market vs. Maceys, how we inherited my brother in law's swingset and fort, how we're going to replace our old and slightly nasty carpet someday so I don't really care about it, but then I screamed when Reb dumped melted Otter Pop on it...... and lots more that I can't remember.  Really, who wouldn't be cheered up after that?

While we chatted the kids played in the sprinklers and ran wild for hours.

Lunch is always more fun when a "rolly polly" bug is crawling around on the table.

More chalk painting.

Thanks guys! (gals?)

It was a good day.

It was Awesome! I can't believe you're able to remember all of that.

J asked what we talked about and I went, "uh....everything". It's hard to remember all that craziness.

Glad you're feeling better. WE love you!

Nothing like a day with your sisters to put a smile back on your face. Glad you had a good time.
