a breakthrough
Every Sunday for the last few month, I've been trying to squeeze a conversation out of Houdini, about Nursery.
The conversation usually goes like this:
"How was nursery?
-"fine."
"Did you cry?"
-"wah" (yeah)
"Was it fun?"
"Did you have a snack?"
"Did you sing songs?"
"Did you play toys?"
Today however, everything changed. He came running up to me after church, happily spilling the news, "Don't cry nursery mom!" Oh happy day.
Then during our usual interrogation, I asked my standard, "Did you have a snack?" His reply came tumbling out, complete with shaking hands, grumpy face and shaking of head, "Max ate my pretzel!"
Ahhh, my boy, welcome to the world of conversation and let's not forget the best part of that world, tattling.
