potty on dude(ette)
We've had our own little Christmas miracle.
I kid you not.
Reb's been telling me for days, "I need go to da bafroom!" and like the good mother that I am, I ignore her.
Reb is two, twenty seven and a half months old, to be exact. I must state for the record that none of our kids even thought of using a potty until they were three years old. Some of them almost four years old. It was always a long painful process involving whining, tears and lots of potty treats. And let me tell you, I needed those potty treats!
Yesterday, once again, she says, "I need go to da bafroom mom," so I figure, "Why not? Let her sit on the potty and get it out of her system until the normal three years old schedule kicks in."
So she sits down and approximately 24 seconds later, the Christmas Miracle occurs.
She really does need "go to da bafroom" and she does "go to da bafroom" right in the potty. Just like she said.
Oh. My. Word.
Then she continues to "go to da bafroom" all day long. Over and over. No accidents.
She continued successfully today. She used the "potty" at TJ Maxx and also at Goodwood BBQ during lunch. Only one little accident when we'd been shopping for a long time at Sams with no potty breaks. (Yes, I am pushing the limits of sanity to take her shopping in underwear when she's only been using the potty for 18 hours, but hey, this whole thing was her idea!)
Do you know that I've been changing diapers every single day for 5057 days straight????? (aka 13 years 312 days) Ok, fine, I will admit that we went on a trip for our Ten Year Anniversary and I did not change a diaper for three whole days. But do remember that for lots of those 5057 days, I had TWO kids in diapers. So that totally makes up for the three day vacation.
I'm still trying to comprehend this whole situation. I keep waiting for her to say, "ok, I've had it with that potty. I really don't like those soft cotton panties. Give me back those scratchy diapers please."
I'm holding my breath....

After all the others you've potty trained, I'd say you're due for a "miracle" child. Keep up the good work Reb!
