brunch in the canyon

Yesterday morning we met some of our kin folk* up the canyon for a late breakfast.

I thought we'd eat our breakfast and admire the river.

I'm foolish that way sometimes.

It quickly became apparent that boys can't admire without touching.

Rock throwing proved endlessly entertaining.

Rock digging was also fun.

Then the big boys went exploring and came back with a slug.

For reasons that I still don't understand, it came up in conversation that they peed on the slug.....

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Starting the all new outdoorsy trend of river walking in your shoes and socks.

If you scroll through the next few picture really quickly, it will almost be like a movie!

Cooooooooool.

Then, as if the pee slug wasn't exciting enough, Harry found a dead fish.

Yes, please put the dead fish on your shoe.

We wouldn't want it to get dirty.

Between the slug, the dead fish and the log throwing, these cousins are trying to decide if we are normal.

(The jury's still out kiddos, still out.)

We did eat bagels for breakfast.

But, um, this is not a bagel.

Such a fun morning.

Let's hurry up and do it 48 more times before school starts!

*Didn't y'all know we are southern now? Yes-sir-e-bob, southern.
