paper power

A few weeks ago, I instigated a family activity for Valentine's Day.

On Valentine's Eve, everyone made Valentine's cards for each other.

There were a few complaints about "compulsory crafting" but everyone participated.

Brick went the extra mile in the card he made for me.

See below:

While we crafted, Reb sat at the table and cut paper with scissors. Hardly any of the paper survived without little Reb cuts on every side.

~

I remembered her cutting prowess the other day when I was trying to make dinner and she was, shall we say, needy?

I set her up at the table with a stack of paper and some scissors.

She sat silently for a HOUR cutting paper.

When Stick walked in after work, he said, "Uhhh, she is making a big mess."

I replied with a smile on my face, "Yes, she is!  But she's happy and she's been happy for a long time!  Who cares about the paper mess?!?!"

I'm not sure how long she will be spellbound by paper and scissors, but for now, it's all good!
