halloween 2013

Last night we carved our pumpkins.

Because I am morally opposed to buying pumpkins, all we had this year were the pumpkins that grew spontaneously in our garden. It seems that is the best way for us to grow them, by making no effort whatsoever. They are a little small, but it turns out that they're easier to carve that way.

While we carved, we tried to listen to Halloween songs on Pandora, but after they've played "Ghostbusters", "Thriller" and "Monster Mash", there's nothing else left and the songs get reeealy weird.

This morning: Shark, witch, Indiana Jones.

The witch has been telling me all month that she was going to be a ballerina, but when we got out the costumes yesterday, she changed her mind.

You can't really tell, but the shark has lots of teeth and eyes on the side of his head.

I don't get credit for this idea, I stole it from here.

After I took the kids to school this morning, I came in and took a picture of Spencer's cute Halloween display.

And then I dropped my iPhone in the toilet.

So that was awesome.

Tonight we have mummy dogs on the menu. Last year I didn't really anticipate that they would be our new yearly tradition, but at least three kids have asked in the last few days, if we are having them. So. Mummy dogs, our newest tradition!

Halloween is fun.
