scouters

We had pack meeting last night and it was Spencer's night to shine!

The older man in this picture has been our fantastic Webelos leader for four years leading both Thomas and Spencer. He was just released and we are really sad.

Spencer was awarded his Arrow of Light last night.

From my days as Primary President when I used to read the church handbook, I know that lighting candles or any open flame in the church is not allowed. So I tried to not have a heart attack when they lit candles for Spencer's ceremony!

Maybe we should feel honored that Spencer is just so great that they were willing to break rules to make him feel special!

(But I'm probably going to chalk it up to ignorance of the rule....)

Crossing over the bridge from cub scouts to 11 year old scouts.

We love this bridge!

(NOT.)

Stick built it and then somehow it became ours to keep in our garage, and then haul to church on a regular basis, and reassemble, then disassemble and haul back home and stick in the garage until the next time it's needed.

Good times, I tell you, good times.

He still has until August to be in Webelos and he's already received all the required awards, so now he is filling in all the compass points which are extra fun, above and beyond awards.

Spencer is an awesome scouter. He's super self motivated and loves to get the awards. I've never even had to get involved, he does it all on his own, for which I say, "Yee haw!"

Harry also got a bead last night. He's half way to his Wolf. He came straight from soccer practice and is wearing his scout shirt with soccer shorts, which is always a classy look.

Yay scouts!

W starts scouts in a couple weeks and I'm nervous that I'm going to have to DO something...Here's to hoping he's self motivated and I can do nothing!!
