movie reviews

Last weekend I saw one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Becoming Jane with Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy. I was out with the girls, so I was already in the mood for a Chick Flick. After 5 solid hours of talking/laughing/eating, we actually managed to start the movie. It was so good. I definitely recommend it and give it 4 stars.

Last night we took the kids to see Spiderwick. We arrived 9 minutes after it started, so we went out to eat and returned for a later show. We went to "Outback Steakhouse". Going out in public with all the kids together is always amusing. Even here in Utah County, people occasionally stare. The man at the table next to us asked if "all those kids were our Primary class". He thought they all looked the same age, and they do, more or less with the exception of Houdini.

Half way through our meal, Trent Plaisted and his wife sat down at the table across from us. Unless you are a BYU basketball fan you will have no idea who that is. He's one of BYU's superstar players. He's 7'+ tall and his wife is probably about 5' tall. That used to really irk me in my old single days. Short girls have their pick of the dating pool, from the short guys to the tall guys. Amazon women like myself only get to pick from the tall guys! I thought about mentioning this to him, but since they are already married I decided it would be pointless. Kidding people, Kidding!

Ok, back to the movie. Spiderwick was mostly entertaining, but way too scary and intense for our little kids. Obviously I didn't know this beforehand or we wouldn't have gone. The big kids enjoyed it, but we did have one bad dream during the night and it was one of the big kids.

So there you have it: 4 stars for Becoming Jane, 2 stars for Spiderwick.

I just LOOOOVed Becoming Jane. It was so Girly and romantic! There's something that's soo fun about watching it with sisters too(and less fun to watch with husbands). I kept thinking about it the next day and went online to read about Jane and the Real Tom Lefory. It does seem the movie took a lot of Liberty in creating that love story. But, it was way fun and I told Jared to buy it for my Birthday for me. We need more girl movies.
