first grade's got talent

Brick's class had a talent show today.

There was a girl who recited the alphabet in french while jumping through a hula hoop, a boy who kicked a soccer ball, a couple of joke telling kids, several gymnasts, and a couple of pianists, among other things.

Brick decided to go the magic route.

~

He was introduced by his teacher.

He showed the audience his rope.

He did all kinds of tricky, twisty things with the rope.

Then when he undid the rope, it was full of knots!

The audience went wild!

They had him repeat the trick, much to his dimpled delight.

We're booking him for Vegas.

Houdini enjoyed the show, but thought the french speaking hula hooping girl was weird.  He obviously doesn't know talent when he sees it.  He informed me that when he's in first grade he's going to wear a cowboy hat, bring a rope and a cow* and show the kids how to lasso**.
And that my friends will be all kinds of awesome!

*No, we don't actually own a cow. Yah, yah, we did once.  But not anymore.
**come back in two years for the cow roping pictures.
