weekly 2015.1.18

Rebekah has a loose tooth that she really wants to pull out at school this week. If it comes out during school hours she gets all kinds of honors and accolades. She says she also has “tornado rings” in her hair today. (Two long curled boingy curls)

Harry had his basketball game yesterday. We had to laugh to see how tan he was compared to all the other kids. I would have thought his tan would have faded by now. He had a great game. He scored 14 of his team’s 16 points. We’ve been talking about passing the ball to the other kids on the team, ‘cause people get huffy about ball hogs. He did better yesterday, but we will still work on it. J

Spencer’s team won their basketball game in double overtime. He and Stick were very happy about it. He is also excited that he found Bucky Balls in the school parking lot. He’s wanted to buy some for a long time and they’re no longer sold in stores.

Thomas says he’s had a really boring week. He’s been working on his Eagle Scout paperwork all week and hopefully he will finish this week. Sadly his basketball team got their first loss yesterday.

Aaron did the project for his Eagle Scout yesterday. Considering it’s January and the work had to be done outside, he was really blessed. Two of the kids that were helping showed up wearing shorts. He and Stick were both so happy to finally have the project done. They started it two years and two weeks ago. He will also be working on his Eagle paperwork this week.

We measured all the kids today and Rachel is happy to report that she’s almost 5’9”. She’s 1/16 shy despite all her best efforts to streeeetch her neck up. She has not heard from BYU yet. She has several friends who are now done with high school, because they finished a semester early. I’m not in a hurry for her to be done with it all, but the fact that she is taking nothing but dumb classes this last semester makes me wonder.

Our ward announced a fun new family history experience today. There is a link that you can follow that will tell you all the famous people in the church and out of the church that you are related to. For example, we are related to most of the modern apostles and prophets, Elvis, Amelia Earhart, etc.

Here’s the info (ignore the CC7th part):

Let's see if we're related! - Relative Finder is an amazing tool that let us see how we are related to each other in our Corner Canyon 7th Ward Family, and to the World.

1.      Go to http://roots-fb.cs.byu.edu/

2.      Click on “Login” It will take you to familysearch.org. Login using your lds account.

3.      Click on the boxes for “Use my Family Search email” and “I agree to the terms and conditions.” Then you can click on “Download my Tree!”
