mini vay cay: summer 2013-- Pt. II

After we left the Church History Museum, we headed over to temple square.

Right as we entered temple square, Bekah began frantically tugging my hand back. "What are you doing?" I inquired. She responded, "We can't go to the temple!  We don't have white clothes on!" So cute.  I explained that we were not actually going to go inside the temple, so we were ok.

We went to the South Visitor's Center because I thought the kids would like to see the scale model of the temple.  I was right!

We had only been there a short time, when the rest of the family caught up with us.

We decided to head to the hotel so the big kids could change clothes.

The view out our room window.

Oh look! We came all the way to a hotel to zone out on cable tv. (poor tv deprived kids)

Then we headed back out on the town.

The boys, having never been to City Creek really wanted to go see what it was, even when I told them, it's basically a mall and shopping. (They hate shopping.)

So we went to City Creek, but first, we needed food in a bad way.  After arguing, debating, discussing it for quite a while, the kids decided they wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory. However, once we got there, it was an hour wait and we were too hungry to wait. So we crossed the sidewalk and headed for Brio Tuscan Grille, which had a one minute wait.  It did cross my mind that their wait was short because their food was gross and no one wanted to eat there, but by that time there was no going back.

I've eaten a lot of bad Italian in my day, but Brio did not disappoint. We all loved the food. The kids even had a calamari appetizer (Did I try it? NO WAY.)

(low lighting = blurry pictures)

We then headed out to the shops. And where do you think the boys wanted to go first? Well, yes, all the techy-geek shops. The Windows store and the Apple store, for example.

The girls did sneak away for some quick clothes shopping too. While Rachel was trying on some jeans, Bekah chatted with a complete stranger and saw pictures of the complete stranger's grandchildren. (Of course she did.)

The kids really loved this door and wanted to spin around and around in it, like "Elf," until I gave them my motherly evil eye.

Late night swimming! You can't really tell from these pictures, but this pool is inside the hotel with an open roof so it's outside too!  (Fancy)

A game called, "throw the arm floaty and everyone try and catch it".

Then back up to the rooms for sleeping. And a little (naughty!) jumping on the bed.

The final installment will be next.
