Progress
We had a busy day yesterday.
This first picture is a semi truck delivering a load of wood for all the framing on our addition. Travis is driving the fork lift to unload the "bunks" and put them in the backyard. 'Cause you know, we have our very own forklift. Why? Don't you?
This second picture is "Laura Ingalls Wilder". Hootis has been working on a big project for about 2 months now called "Images of Greatness". I think she knew she'd get to wear the fun pink pioneer dress again if she portrayed "Laura" and that motivated her decision. She just loves to swish around in that dress!
Part of the project was a "Wax Museum". Each student had to dress in a character appropriate costume and stand on a small platform. They had a paper button on the wall next to them that said "push". When each character's button was pushed they would come to life and tell a 20 second spiel on who they were. Hootis had a little trouble with the "wax" part, she wiggled the whole time. It was fun to see all the different kids. They ranged from Einstein, Buddy Holly, Walt Disney, Clara Barton,Helen Keller, Harriet Tubman, etc.
Today was the second part of the project. I went to her classroom and observed while she explained all the rest of her report. I tried to get a close up, but at that exact moment my camera died, loudly beeping about 15 times in a room of silent 5th graders. Nice.
These last two pictures are the boys at Hootis' school last night during the Wax Museum. Apparently we will be frustrating all the efforts of future bullies in their lives. They chose to hang themselves up by the coat hooks. Poor Houdini, he was too short to hang.
Notice Brick's shiny pants? They're ski pants, and they're his latest obsession. He wears them every single day and it hasn't snowed in weeks. Nice.
