the penny game

We had FHE last night and it was my turn to pick the game.  Usually I am tired (and occasionally grumpy) by the time we even start FHE, so when it's my time to pick the game I go for "quick and easy."  Duck Duck Goose is one of my standbys.  Also, I Spy With My Little Eye.  Each of these is done easily, take no preparation and very little mental or physical exertion. My kind of game! Whereas, the kids usually pick things like Lazer Tag or Flashlight Hide and Go Seek.  (My favorite Hide and Seek hiding spot is in my bed, under my covers....)

Last night I upped the ante a teensy bit by choosing The Penny Game.  There were actual cheers when I made the announcement.

The Penny Game.  So fun!

What?  You don't know The Penny Game?

Let me demonstrate:

1.  Give each person a penny labeled on one side with tape and their initial.

2.  Line everyone up on the floor.

3.  Tell them to "flick" the penny with their finger, like dis*.

(or as in Reb's case, they can throw the penny)

4. The penny that gets closest to the banister, but doesn't actually touch the banister is the winner! Woo Hoo!

5. Lather, rinse, repeat.  Lather rinse, repeat.

I tell you, the fun never ends around here.

*Name that movie.
