out with the old, in with the new
Our last bit of Thanksgiving before the change of holiday.
Out with the old (pumpkins) in with the new (Christmas lights)!
The prospect of getting rid of the remaining pumpkins reminded me of this idea.
Our boys joyfully followed suit.
Don't the lights look fantastic?
I'm pretty sure he'd rather do other things, but Stick puts them up as a birthday present to me.
And if that wasn't enough, he roasted our turkey yesterday,
cooked and mashed the potatoes, and did 90% of the work for the feast.
In the last few days, he fixed an annoyingly malfunctioning toilet, two broken closet doors, tilled our garden, and fixed/stained more of the (never ending) fence. All this in addition to his demanding job and new calling of Scout Master.
Way back in December of 1995, when we were just starting to make goo-goo eyes at one another, I truely didn't really know what a great catch he would be.
Every day I am thankful that we figured out (finally) that we liked each other.
It's been a glorious ride.
