No school today!
We took a trip to the big city.
The Children's Museum was closed for remodeling.
Boo!
Fortunately the authentic "Pioneer Woman" was available to show us her house.
We tried not to notice her modern day water bottle and book hidden in the trees.
Hey! Authentic Pioneer Women get bored and thirsty too!
They don't give Horehound candy at the Beehive house anymore!
They said no one likes it.
True.
But I wanted the kids to try it, yucky or not.
(Definitely yucky.)
Lunch.
Some of us actually ate the food, others spent considerable time throwing their lunch at birds.
Big city birds are such a novelty!
We won't mention which kid took an empty sandwich bag, and scooped up fountain water into it.
I'm not sure what the intent was.....find a lonely goldfish looking for a home? sell the fancy water to the homeless guy on the corner? throw the bag of water at a sibling?
Whatever the plan was, it was quickly thwarted when mean old mom said, "Put that water BACK! We do not steal water from fountains!"
We finished off the outing with "Parfaits" from Mc D's.
As far as my kids are concerned, it's the best $1.00 you could spend on a hot sunny day.
Favorite quote of the day:
Brick- "Can we go back to those bathrooms? They smelled SO GOOD!"
