Rebekah had a great week of firsts. She taught herself to swim underwater on Thursday at our next door neighbor’s pool. She then perfected her swimming while at Lindon Pool’s lazy river on Friday. Then she was thrilled to finally go on her first camping trip Friday night with our family. She loved every minute of it until she got car sick on the drive down AF canyon and threw up.
Harry was thrilled to get a big ol’ survival knife from Grandpa F who is back from his mission (Grandma F is home too). Harry also loved our camping trip. We had to laugh that he packed his survival knife, his fuzzy blanket and two stuffed animals but no jacket or flashlight.
Spencer joined 11 year old scouts one week early so he could participate in their gun shooting activity. He’s excited to finally join all his friends, since he’s the youngest. They sang Happy Birthday to him in Primary today and he was taller than the Primary president and the song leader.
Thomas was so excited to borrow Grandpa M’s wood carving tools. He is dreaming about carving a rhinoceros. He is not excited about school starting, except for art class.
Aaron went back to work this week at Draper Elementary. He is trying to be excited about it. High school officially starts for him on Wednesday but he has a half day practice day on Tuesday.
Rachel had her last official day at Sonic yesterday. She will be on call for now on. I’m not sure how often she will be able to work when they call since she is taking three AP classes and is starting back at her Draper Elementary job too. It seems hard to believe she is a senior this year.
We went to Lindon Pool for a few hours with G & G on Friday and it was super fun. We would have liked to stay longer but we had to get home and pack for our last minute camping trip. Stick was supposed to be camping with the scouts but only one other scout besides Thomas could go, so they cancelled. We had been thinking about a small camping trip all summer so we decided to go as a family. Even though I’ve been a staunch anti-camper for years, I committed to a one night trip. It was fun!
Back to school on Wednesday! Yay/boo.
