book club - august 2011

My book club read "Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise" by Ruth Reichl last month.

It was only fitting that we met at "The Paris" in Sugarhouse to eat and discuss the book.

(Why am I front and center and all flashified in this pic?  No idea.)

The book is super fun.  An easy entertaining read about a food critic who wears disguises so she can critique her restaurants honestly.

I tried to get out of my comfort zone and order something I wouldn't normally order, and let me tell you, it was to die for.  I wanted to lick the plate.

Ravioli de Courge Butternut
(Butternut Squash Ravioli, Sage Beurre Blanc, Pan Roasted Hazelnuts, Parmigiano Reggiano)

Great food, good friends, a fun night.

What more could you ask for?
