april fools day 2015
Early this morning we called Grandma A to sing the April Fool's song, as per our annual tradition.
Then I saw on IG that my brother in law had rigged the faucet in his kitchen so it sprayed my sister with water.
I was inspired.
I've always wanted to do some kind of silly trick for April Fool's day.
Putting googly eyes on everything gave me a good laugh.
Then I upped the ante and put toothpaste into Oreos.
Rachel and Aaron arrived home from school first and were happy to see Oreos, which I never buy, on the counter.
Rachel screamed and Aaron suffered in silence, while I laughed my head off.
Then Thomas and Spencer arrived.
Spencer eagerly poured himself a glass of milk and tanked down two milk dipped Oreos. Finally when he got to the third Oreo, he realized something was wrong.
In his defense, it's possible that the first two didn't have toothpaste, but man oh man, I laughed myself silly.
In the half hour between Thomas and Spencer getting home and the littles getting home, they ran around trying to do as many tricks as possible.
They started out by short sheeting Harry, Bekah and Aaron's beds.
Then Spencer tried to put a package on the porch that would spill when picked up, but he couldn't find our packing peanuts stash and the crumpled newspaper inside the box was packed too tight and didn't spill out.
Rats.
Then Thomas got the brilliant idea of making fake, um, well scroll down and you'll see.
I'm not even sure if Martha Stewart knows how easy it is to make fake, um.....but it is. A simple wet toilet paper tube scrunched up with your hands turns into um, fake....
So gross!
How does he even know this trick?!?!?!
He put it on the street right where the bus stops and the kids get off.
When Harry and Bekah came home, Harry was instantly suspicious and refused a cookie.
I guess the kids at school had been talking about this very trick.
Bekah didn't eat hers after she heard Harry talking. She took another cookie and I honestly thought all the toothpaste ones were gone, so I told her it would be fine.
It wasn't.
Whoops.
All in all it's been a fun day with a few silly pranks.
Happy April Fool's day!
