the big trip 2014 - day two

We got up the next morning and headed to the Air and Space Museum, but on the way we passed my favorite president. (We share a birthday)

The Air and Space Museum was AWESOME, we had about 30 minutes there but it was a place where you easily could have spent a whole day. Everything kind of looked like it was made out of duct tape and tinfoil.

On our way out we saw this awesome McDonald's street vendor.

After this we took the metro to the airport to pick up our rental car. Once we got the car we drove back to check out of the hotel and then went for a little drive of the city to see it from that perspective.

...

Now on to New York.

This was our first view, it doesn't look that big from here. We were on Google maps to see how to get to New York and how long it was going to take. When we thought we had arrived we wondered what was going on because we still appeared to have quite a bit of time left to get to our destination. Little did we know, what should have been the last 5 minutes of our drive to the hotel probably took about an hour. The traffic was CRAZY. I am so glad I live in where I live.

The view from the hotel. (27th Floor) We got here just in time to change and head over to see the Broadway show, Wicked. On the way we stopped and got a delicious sandwich at some weird little deli.

Wicked was really great, they did a great job acting and I really enjoyed the plot. You know its good because my Dad even liked it. He said he was going to come home and watch The Wizard of OZ.

After the play we walked around times square for a while. It is the craziest place ever. There are weirdos dressed up all over the place and just mobs of people. This is definitely a city that never sleeps, you could go out there at any time and there would still be people EVERYWHERE!

Afterwards we headed back to the hotel, good luck sleeping in this place, it is so loud and there are sirens all the time.

In the morning we went to the most delicious italian bakery ever. It was super yummy we got some pastries and I tried my first focaccia. (A thick weird pizza thingy)

We went to the top of the Rock. It is super high and you can see everything. It was awesome but its the one place I forgot my real camera.

Another candy stop.

We stopped by the temple, it's weird how it blends in with the rest of the buildings. We went inside, it is so hard to believe the difference you feel as soon as you go inside, it is instantly super quiet and very peaceful. When we were in the hotel we were 27 floors up and could still hear everything. But the second we walked in the door of the temple it was completely silent.

Do you see that speck in the background, ya that's the statue of liberty, pretty cool!

...

(until next week)

That is really cool! And I'm glad you went and saw Wicked together. I don't know anything about it. But if YOU're going to NY you just gotta go to Broadway you just Gotta see a show! What a great memory for your dad and you.
