weekly 2015.8.2
We have had a quiet low key week with all the boys gone.
We were happy when the two daring twinners came a few hours ago to give us some excitement. They’ve been so cute. We laughed to watch Noah lift up Hannah’s shirt to show us her belly button. Then they both sat on Bekah’s lap which was almost big enough for two. Noah kept getting a little ball stuck in a cup and then he’d say in a deeper voice than usual, “Uh oh!” They went right to bed and didn’t make a peep. We will have them until Tuesday night. We brought up six bins of old toys from the basement, here’s to hoping they keep the kids happy until then!
In other happy news, Rachel got a temporary job working at Education Week as an AV specialist/Mall Cop. At least that’s my description of her job….She also got a job (for the school year) at the Creamery. YAY! This week she’s been doing lots of money planning and budgeting for the upcoming school year, trying to get prepared, so we are happy about both jobs. Rachel and cousin Sara did some school shopping together on Friday and Rachel and I are still trying to finish “Call the Midwives” which we love. She’s also been taking guitar lessons from a (guy) friend in our ward and telling me daily about her really sore fingertips. Poor girl!
Bekah attended a birthday party, she and I went up the canyon for another breakfast with some of the cousins and the grands, (Rachel was at BYU interviewing.) and she spent half a day with the cousins playing. She is starting to count the days until school starts, she can hardly wait!
Yesterday we went jeeping with Stick up American Fork canyon. While I love spending time with my favorite people, I’m still trying to figure out the joy in the jeeping thing. I guess I’m just too bony for those bumpy roads. We went up, up, up and eventually over the top of part of the mountain, coming out where the road ended overlooking Pleasant Grove and Lindon. Which I will admit was pretty, I just have to figure out how to teleport there next time. We came home positively caked in dirt from head to toe.
We’ve talked to our cute working boys in Idaho a few times this week and it seems like they are working hard but having some fun too. We will be happy to see them at the end of this week.
