a little bit of this, a little bit of that
-The kids went to the temple to do baptisms this morning before school, along with Aaron's friend G. They've been surprised lately because it's always really busy. Last year when they went, they hardly ever had to wait, but it seems like it's a goal for everyone this year to be there, which is a good thing.
-Aaron starts soccer again tomorrow. He has a new coach which we are happy about, as we did not like his coach in the Fall. It was a mom, who stood on the sidelines and chatted with the other parents the entire game, hardly even watching what was going on, much less coaching the kids. So we figure it can only go up from there with the new coach.
-Rachel got a 28 on the ACT which I thought was great, but she thought was so-so. She will probably take it again to see if she can bring her score up, and next time she will actually practice before the test. She did the worst in English grammer/skills, which frankly makes me a little mad. She has never had a decent English teacher in high school or middle school, so obviously she is a little weak. I think back to my high school teachers and the two teachers who I learned the most from, were my junior honors English teacher, and my senior AP English teacher.
-I hosted my book club this week. We read "The Bronze Bow" which is a Newberry Medal winning book by Elizabeth George Spears. Such a good book! We had a pretty small turn out, but it's always a really fun time. The stalwarts that come every month are great and we always spend a good chunk of the time laughing our heads off.
- I'm still trying to finish one of my kitchen chairs. I've lost steam on the project, and I'm going to have to force myself to finish it. (Mainly because Harry is using a lawn chair right now, ha!) What I'm really itching to do is some sewing. That's how I always am, my crafting/creating mood changes with the wind. I'm still trying to finish some decorating in my kitchen/family room that I started over a year ago. Maybe, what I lack is the power to actually finish a project?!
-Rachel was supposed to have a track meet on Wednesday, but it poured rain the whole day and the meet got cancelled. She applied to work at the new Leatherby's Ice cream parlor that is opening. She's not that excited to go back to janitoring after track season. I'm hoping that the fact that she already has over two years job experience will help her get hired. It's going to be a long summer, if she can't find a summer job.
-At book club some of my friends were surprised that I'm 3.5 weeks into my crazy diet and I haven't noticed any difference. It's true. Other than a daily runny nose, which is probably a coincidence and losing about 8-10 pounds, I haven't noticed a single change. I am planning on staying on the diet for at least two months. At first I didn't think I could even do it for one month, but it's been ok for the most part. I decided to go two months, maybe three, so I can know for sure one way or the other if it's helping or not. But if I keep losing weight I'm going to have to buy new pants!
over and out.

Also you losing weight is not ok. Like, seriously. I have managed to not loose weight so you better not either! That's what! Get adding coconut oil to everything, downing your avocados, lots of (grass fed) meat, and for heavens sake get some sunflower seeds! T can avoid them, he's a big boy, :) oh an olives too....so yummy, good for you, and healthy fat. That's what.
