laundry day(s)
It was laundry day yesterday and now it's all washed and sitting on the couch waiting to be folded. Seven people generate a LOT of laundry and I spend a LOT of time dealing with it. My goal is to get it done from start to finish in 24 hours. How often do I make my goal? Rarely.
After all these years of washing, I have noticed a couple of trends. Certain people in this family have differing opinions on how to deal with dirty clothes. Darling Hootis, for example, puts everything she touches, looks at, or thinks about in her dirty clothes basket. It doesn't matter if she's worn it, it must be dirty. Another name for this symptom? Laziness.
The boys on the other hand, usually do laundry in two extremes. Extreme #1- After 7 days of wearing clothes, between the 3 big boys, there will be 4 pairs of underwear, 5 socks, and 1 shirt (that I put in the basket). The other Extreme, #2 , goes something like Hootis'. When I tell them it's laundry day, they panic, knowing there aren't any dirty clothes in the basket. They pick up all the clothes from the floor of their room, add a few from their drawer, throw in a toy, one rubber snake, and a library book, get the clothes from off their beds, and then get the clothes from off the closet floor. Thus, giving, good old mom, 7 additional loads of laundry to do.
I'm starting to think the "nudists" aren't so crazy after all, think about all the extra time they have on their hands!

EVERYTIME I've Ever been to your house, including when we were neighbors and I was there everyday, it was Laundry day! I do pity you and your ever ending Mound. Ofcourse you don't have to walk into another building to do your laundry...as I do. I get bummed out on Laundry day, because it's really annoying.
