summer lovin' had me some fun
Last day of school 2008. I told Proto he wore that shirt on the first day of school, and I haven't seen it again until today. It unfortunately lacks a Super Hero or a big stain, so it apparently isn't that cool.
Summer officially started today. Rise and Shout, schools out! Summer means many things around here. One being that clothes for the boys are optional. Houdini spent a long time this morning trying to convince me that not only was he too hot for a shirt, he was too hot for shorts. I didn't buy it, especially since it was only 62*.
A photo essay of all the flowers we have right now, and our yard. Yes, I am turning into my mother (hi mom)....years ago in college, my roommate and I would find it highly amusing that both our mother's started our letters with a report of the yard/garden/flowers. So here I am talking about our yard/garden/flowers. Tradition, you know.
I bought these perennials about 3 years ago and they were mailed to me in a box. I opened the box and found a strange assortment of woody looking little roots. Eventually that year, some flowers appeared but they were measly at best. Each year since they've gotten better. So fun!
Notice I am in a color rut? I only like red/blue/yellow flowers. With an occasional white.
The picture is our pasture and garden spot where we recently planted grass. Hello! A whole lotta' grass. This isn't even counting our regular yard. Please have pity on Hootis and Rooney since they are mowing the regular yard along with all this new stuff, each and every week. Poor poor kids.
This final picture is just plain gross. What kind of sicko bird did that? And why haven't I cleaned it up after a whole week? If you want the full effect, and you have a strong stomach, click on the picture to see all 5, yes FIVE bombs. Ick!

Your flowers look soooo pretty! What will happen to them when the bulldozers come to your house/yard?
