FDOS- kindergarten edition
The big day today.
The word "excited" is not strong enough to describe his state. (He told me yesterday he couldn't wait for school because of all the candy, movies and field trips to the trading post! I told him he might be a little confused on the details....) The only damper to the morning was the MAJOR rain storm that swooshed through, causing mom to demand that "jeans and a jacket" be worn instead of the preferred "shorts." (He got retaliation by wearing a really ugly sweatshirt.)
He finally gets to run across the street with the big boys to the bus stop!
The big boys introduced him as "yet another brother" to the Mr. Bus Driver. Houdini was pleased to hear Mr. Bus Driver say, "NOT another ONE!"
Really though, how awesome is it to have four brothers on the same bus together?!?!?
At school with his best buddy D, who is in his class and happens to live next door.
(His teacher is in the back ground. I think her grimace is saying "I really should have become a cosmetologist. Nail polish is so easy. 20+ five year olds? Not so much.)
At this point, after lining up with the rest of his class, he ran back about five times to hug me, causing the last drop of my reserve to fail and the tears to fall.
(Yes, I am a wimp. I've cried when every one of my kids went to kindergarten! And I cried 3 hours later, just telling Stick about it!)
Reb was sad most of the morning, crying, "Houdini yuves!" (Houdini loves)
~
After a few hours he came back.
We all survived.
(He had a great day.)
