the prince & the plunder
I'm sure you're familiar with the tale, "The Princess and the Pea".
They saw at once that she must be a real princess when she had felt the pea through twenty mattresses and twenty feather beds. Nobody but a real princess could have such a delicate skin.
But are you familiar with the modern version? The tale of "The Prince and the Plunder"?
THE PRINCE AND THE PLUNDER
There once was a four year old Prince. He liked to collect treasures. He often found treasures in things like rocks, pens, papers and little broken toys. Unfortunately the Prince did not have a good spot to hide his treasures. So he did the best thing he could think of, he hid them under his pillow, safe and sound.
One day the Prince's beautiful and benevolent mother, who was also the Queen, began to wash all the bedding in the Royal Kingdom. (Believe me when I tell you, this job is a royal pain in the pillowcase.) When she pulled up the young prince's pillow this is what she found:
- 1 pen (belonging to the beautiful and benevolent Queen)
- 8 rocks
- 2 Power Ranger valentine cards
- 1 small flashlight
- 1 toy car
- 1 mechanical pencil
- 3 unidentified objects of the plastic variety
- 1/2 pair of 3-D glasses
- 1 reptile book
- 1 Friend magazine
- 1 crumpled paper
- 1 receipt
- 1 Lego magazine
- 1 felt Christmas bag
- 1 IKEA elephant toy
- 1 small plastic Frisbee
Up until now, the young Prince had slept soundly each and every night knowing that his treasures were safe. Once the royal decree was declared, "Brick, clean this mess up", the poor Prince never slept well again. Alas, how could a true Prince sleep, knowing that he had thrown all his ingeniously hidden treasures on the floor and now they were free game to any wandering looter, also known as the "younger Prince".
The moral of this story: Next time, hide your treasures in a better spot, like your under your bed, so the Queen (who can't bend over any more ) won't see them for a long, long time.
THE END

WOW, that's a lot of...stuff. Me thinks you ought to let him sleep on them...what's a boy to do with lurking stealers of things like, reciepts and plastics parts.
