It never fails. We're at the library last week, heading for the "board book" section. Now let me explain, we have a BIG library with probably 100+ board books. All kinds of good books. Every single time, Houdini spots the book he wants when we're 3 aisles away. As we get closer he starts saying, "want dat frog book! Want DAT frog book!" Ack! Not again. He's spotted "The Rubberdubbers". I do not get it, this is the worst book ever, and he loves it! Brick loved it too and wanted it every time. I try the distraction method, "look here's Eric Carle!", " ohh loook, a train book!", "neat! Little Bear!". But he will not be swayed, "Want dat Frog Book!" So I give in again. Someday, I hope/wish some other destructive little toddler will love the book to death and it will disappear from the library forever. Until then, "dat frog book" will come home with us, every single time.

****In case you were wondering, Houdini came to me this morning with a pair of unders. He didn't want to wear "dat tight diaper". Hey, I know an opportunity when I see it, so we quickly took off the diaper and put on a cute little pair of Nemo "unders". Then I asked him every 37 seconds if he needed to pee. He didn't need to pee until the trickle of pee went running down his leg. He quickly got hysterical crying, "My weg! My weg! (leg)" I put him on the potty so he could finish the job, which he did about 15 minutes later. We clapped and yelled and gave him a potty treat. Then I put on a diaper because we have to go to the store now. He happily told me, "Don't wike dose unders, I wike diapers!" So much for that lesson.
