Spudnuts 2013

I think it's been established that I don't really like to bake. When I have free time, "making cookies" is about the last thing that comes to mind.

However, once in a while, I decide to do a big ol' baking project. For someone who doesn't like to bake, it's a little unclear why a 6 hour baking project seems like fun. (I'm mysterious that way.)

Enter the "Spudnuts." I made these once a few years ago, and my next door neighbor has been begging for more ever since.

They start out like this:

Eventually they turn into this:

They finish up like this:

This recipe (found here) makes a ton. I half the recipe and we still had enough to take plates to three neighbors, and then stuff ourselves sick with greasy sugary goodness. (KT-feel free to judge here___________).

Then the next morning, when the house smelled like a grease pit from the wrong side of the tracks, I simmered my favorite deodorizer to get rid of the smell.

Dear Spudnuts, you were fun while you lasted.  I hope we meet again someday.

The only thing I'm judging is why I didn't get a plate! Come on, you know I NEED this kind of food right now!!! :)

Those looks crazy. I want some. You think they'd taste the same if they're GF, DF, and Egg F??

I agree with KT...were is mine? How else am I going to get voluptuous if I don't get goodies.
