boy crafting

At our ward Christmas party last weekend, the kids made pine cone Christmas trees at the craft table.

Harry came home and immediately started chopping up popsicle sticks to make a base for his tree. Then he made a train to go around the base of the tree. Then today he made miniature presents too. I can't wait to see what's next!

These days if I ever want to use my glue gun, I can't find it. All my boys have discovered how useful it is in gluing things together for assorted boy crafts.

What are boy crafts, you ask?

Cardboard Jedi swords, cardboard stuff that I can't identify, cardboard weapons, cardboard Steam Punk stuff, popsicle stick trains, etc.

I love that they're being creative, but please don't let them burn down the house.

Their boy crafting also often involves boiling things. Yep, popsicle sticks boiling in water, in the same pot I make oatmeal in. This morning Aaron almost made hot cocoa with warm popsicle stick water.

Boy crafting.

It's a thing.
