tulips, daffodils, firemen
Here's proof that this impossibly long, cold miserable winter may be thinking about ending. I got so excited to see these buds, I wanted to kneel down in the dirt and kiss them. We have had a great week, in the 50's. It's felt so nice that the kids keep asking to wear shorts and bare feet. I know it's only Mother Nature's trick, and that we'll still get some nasty cold weather, but we'll enjoy the break while it lasts!
Yesterday the boys and I went to to Fire Station so Rooney could get a Cub Scout achievement done. Needless to say the visit was a bit hit. We had a really nice guy show us around and tell us all about "Fire Safety". On the way home, Brick was sad because he didn't get to see the "pole they slide down on". I had to explain to him that the station was one story so there was no pole. When the fireman asked the boys if they'd ever seen a fire truck before, Rooney piped up and said, "Yeah! One came to our house when it was on fire! The truck was in our driveway!" I'm pretty sure my face was a red as the firetruck.
