weekly 2015.3.2

Bekah told me yesterday that she had hair in her armpits. We then had a really confusing conversation about it, and I finally concluded that she was telling me the hair on her head was in her armpits, but, with that girl, you never really know.

Harry taught himself to play a fun “Indian Dance” song on the piano. It’s a song that all of our kids have loved to play. He’s now begging for lessons, so maybe I’ll gird up my loins and attempt to teach him. (Pray for us both.)

Spencer went to the BYU Scout Pow Wow on Saturday with some friends from our ward. He had a great time and came home super happy with the whole event. He learned about Space Exploration which he said was “kind of boring but they get to shoot off rockets next time” so he’s super excited about that, and also Citizenship in the World which he said was fun.

My son, the giant man-child.

Thomas is home sick today. I personally, am sick of all the sick. We went a long time this winter with everyone healthy, and now it seems like someone is always sick.

I let Aaron make a super quick stop at Radio Shack the other day while we were running errands. Radio Shack is going out of business so all their goods are marked way down. He was hilariously happy about his purchases, all kinds of oddball electric parts that he has big plans to build cool stuff with.

We’ve had a fun weekend celebrating Rachel’s BYU acceptance. We told the kids we’d take them all out for a celebratory lunch and Rachel chose Pei Wei. The kids thought this was super fun because we don’t generally eat out as a whole family except for our annual Christmas meal. Rachel asked me if we would have still gone out to eat if she had only been accepted to Utah State, and her question confused me for a bit. We would have been happy with Utah State, and truthfully they gave her a great scholarship which BYU didn’t, but then I realized we were celebrating the fact that she accomplished her goal. BYU was her #1 choice and she did it. Yay her!
