The Great Pumpkin Sale

The Great Pumpkin Sale is in full force. We had a fun and profitable day yesterday. Usually we totally guess what price to sell our goods. This year I happened to notice that our local grocery story was selling theirs for .19/lb. So I weighed a medium sized pumpkin of ours and told the kids to sell the mediums for $4.00, the smalls for 2 and the large for 6. Hootis had other ideas. She took out the scale, weighed EACH pumpkin, did the math and put a price tag on EACH pumpkin. As you can see, she is highly motivated by the prospect of making cold hard cash, and wasn't willing to waste profits with my lazy way of pricing.

We are half way through the pumpkin pile and they've made a total of $62+ so far.

****The child with a smeared face is a neighbor and I didn't get permission to post his picture, so just to be safe, he is now smeary faced.
