the eagle has landed...almost
I'm happy to report that Aaron has turned in all the required paperwork for his eagle.
Yes, it required two different trips to the Scout office in one afternoon, but yay him, he's done all that he can do at this point. Still up, the final Board of Review. (I think.)
These are all the cute boys who came to help with the actual project, a "compass course" at a park along the Jordan River parkway.
Notice the shorts and you will get an idea of how not cold our winter has been.
Over the years I've always heard people groan in regards to eagle projects and wondered if they were blowing things out of proportion. But now that we are almost there, I understand better. It's just a lot. A lot of paperwork. A lot of meetings. A lot of signatures. Volunteers gathered. Hours recorded. And all these things have to kept track of by a Boy Scout, which is no easy task.
That being said, I can also see how much is learned along the way. Things that your average teen boy wouldn't experience if it weren't for the boy scout program.
And for that I am thankful.
One project down (sort of), three to go.
Wish us luck.
