1. Rooney had a school program last week. Our school really loves to put on programs, this is our 3rd this year.
He square danced.
(His normal partner was missing, so he danced with a girl
that was literally a head taller than him.
Just to his left in the picture you can see her. He was not amused.)
There were songs about America.
2. I'm having a little writer's block. I can't think of anything to write about. This has happened before and I know it will go away eventually.
3. Perhaps I can't think of anything to write about because all we've done lately is "sickness." Currently Houdini is sick and been home from school all week. The doctor says it's an ear infection and a cough that sounds just like RSV, but may or may not be RSV. Consequently, I may or may not be worried.
4. I had Book Club last night. So fun. We read Jane Eyre this month and then had an enjoyable get together at my friend's house. Lots of great discussion with interesting, educated and witty women. It's a highlight of the week for me. Stick finds it amusing that I like Book Club so much. First of all, he's not a reader, so he doesn't understand why reading a book and then talking about it would be fun. Second, he leaves the house every day and goes to work. He converses, discusses and interacts with other people on a regular basis. I, on the other hand, stay at home. Every day. I fully recognize how blessed we are that I am able to stay home and be a mom full time. There is nothing I would rather do. But, an opportunity to get together with friends for laughs and discussion is something I cherish too.
5. Everyday while I'm trying to make dinner I have to keep interrupting my cooking to go monitor the neighborhood basketball game in our driveway. There seems to be a little "goo goo eyes" action taking place between some of the participants....
6. Yesterday after overhearing Brick and Rooney arguing in the other room, I made them stand up and hug each other until they quit arguing. Surprisingly enough, their argument was over quickly. Clearly, this is my new favorite discipline plan.

We have a very great "Hug Till Your Happy" thing in our house for children who are bickering. I love it and it always ends in laughter....(or else they never get to quit hugging - ha ha).
