weekly 2014.9.14

Rebekah happily went to her dance class yesterday. She’s been very sad that school is interfering with her dance. In fact she came home yesterday telling me that her recital is this Friday and she needed to skip school. I told her that I was sure the recital would be after school and skipping school wouldn’t be possible. Upon hearing this, she had a pretty epic meltdown.  Meltdown aside, I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that I have a dance loving daughter in the family.

Harry has now changed from wearing his Crocodile Dundee hat to a hard hat of Stick’s that he found in the garage. It was his week for Saturday breakfast week with Stick. He happily reported to me that he went to Golden Corral and finished off his meal with cotton candy. He has big plans to be Nacho Libre for Halloween.

Spencer went on his first overnight camp out with the 11 year old scouts, Friday night. He didn’t really know what to expect but came home super happy. He happily told me all about every single fun detail.

Thomas went boating with the youth in our ward yesterday at Jordanelle. Rachel and Aaron have really loved this in the past. It was Thomas’ first time and he came home super happy with the whole outing. He also had a friend party last night. He is starting to work on his Halloween costume, which involves some kind of steam punk goggles, as far as I can tell.

Aaron has had a few comp soccer games this weekend and his team won them both. Stick took him up to boating late yesterday, after one of his games. He’s been having fun hanging out with the high school crowd at the weekly football games, so far our team is undefeated.

Rachel has had a fun homecoming week playing football with friends in the Powder Puff competition. Her team took second overall. Then Tuesday night she was asked to go to the Homecoming dance. I’m going to blog about it so I won’t go into any details here. But I’ll sum it up with: She looked super pretty, and she had a great time.

Our lives have been super crazy lately. We’ve had a few days this week where four different kids have needed to be in four different spots in the valley at the same time. If we didn’t have three drivers, I don’t even know how we would do it! I finally realized that I’m looking forward to the cold weather because at least that means no more outdoor sports, scout campouts, etc. So, um, yay snow?
