working girl

Rachel started a job yesterday.

We are firm believers in the benefits of child labor.

~

She applied early last summer to be a student janitor at the boy's elementary school.

Last week she got a call that they had a job to offer her.

She works for an hour and a half each day vacuuming and emptying trash cans.

She gets to wear a ghost buster type vacuum backpack that she's trying to be enthusiastic about.

(I guess it's pretty heavy for her skinny bod.)

~

Making $7.25/ hour should help her enthusiasm.

Pretty great money for a 14 year old!

Not that this helps, but the cleaning lady at my work wears the same vaccum and everytime she walks by I sing the ghost busters song! HAA HAA! ...she's not amused either. lol

Awesome, way to go on the job!

What? You can work at 14? That's just crazy. I didn't get my first job until I was 18-- and look how good I turned out...

Yeah for child labor! My parents believed in it too. I got my first job at 15. I think Kelly's daughter had a similar job working after school as a janitor. My dad calls those jobs "college motivators".

Is that a striped shirt? Yellow and stripes -- all in a matter of weeks, WOW. ST
